Saxafrax & Wild Rushes Borzoi are proud to announce our next generation with our Youth & Beauty Brigade litter born April 1, 2024 (this is no April Fools’ joke!). Our 9 healthy pups (6 boys, 3 girls) are growing and thriving.

HEALTH TESTING:
Prior to breeding, Fennel was issued CHIC #183180. DM clear, OFA echo, eyes, and thyroid normal. Holter Monitored on 6/15/2022 and on 11/20/2023 with zero VPC or other abnormalities both times.
Due to Porter being “a dog of the past” used via frozen artificial insemination, he has not been health tested. Several of his previous offspring can be found in the OFA database with partial health testing results.

We are excited about this pairing for a number of reasons, including:
The genetic diversity we hope to produce, both by preserving these uncommon pedigrees and hoping these parents pass along rare haplotypes they carry, as identified through genetic testing of Fennel and of Porter’s offspring.
Lovable temperaments with drive to chase and hunt. Both Fennel and Porter have reputations for being goofy, friendly, companionable borzoi. Fennel is a straight racing champion and is pointed in AKC coursing, and Porter was the type to “chase rabbits for miles”. We expect intelligent, versatile dogs who can dabble in non-traditional “borzoi sports”, as Porter’s offspring and ancestors have titled in rally and obedience, and Fennel and her siblings have dabbled in many venues.
Beautiful clean movers with classic type. Fennel attained her AKC championship shortly after whelping this litter with 3 majors, including a BOB win over 6 specials. She is also a UKC conformation champion. Porter was an AKC and International champion, who many will remember for his Award of Merit at the 2006 Borzoi Club of America National Specialty, where he also won Best Veteran in Sweeps.
This litter was raised at Saxafrax, using Avidog and Puppy Culture techniques.
